This world cup is going to be ruled by the South American teams and I tip Messi’s Argentina to be the winners. Therefor my (starting) team has Messi and fellow Argenitian GK Romero. Together with world’s best full back, Dani Alves, and Kaka. On the bench Santa Cruz and Chile’s dribble master Alexis Sanchez are solid back-ups for top scorers Rooney and Van Persie.

Both The Nederlands and England are in awesome form and have quite easy groups, which will hopefully earn me a lot of points. Van Persie has been preferred for the starting game as Robben is still unsure. Sneijder is a sure value of Dutch Total Football.

The other midfielders are more guesswork. Since Zizou left, “Les Bleus” rely on Ribery. A great player but tormented by recent scandals and on a poor form. France is expected by many experts to have a difficult WC. I think this will make them stronger and offer them some more willingness to fight. However, prudence let’s me only select one French player.

Silva starts on the bench as I don’t really like and trust the Spanish team and rather see Ozil having a good game. I’m also a bit unsure of the Spanish midfield, they just have too many stars to chose from. Depending on performances, Clint Dempsey and Christian Riveros are interesting back ups, both have a very important role in their national teams.

The defense will be completed by Terry and Lahm with Zambrotta on the bench. The Italian is solid but not as good as during his younger days at Juve. All three are very important players for their country.
